Torah rollers are traditionally known as atzei chaim,
trees of life.
Our atzei chaim are made in Israel by the finest and
most experienced Torah roller maker. Choose from many
solid wood and sterling silver styles.
How to order Torah rollers – atzei chaim?
On this page you’ll choose the upper plates, upper
handles and lower handles then press the continue button
at the bottom to go to the next page to choose the wood
color, provide the Torah scroll length and have the
option for silver dedication disks and to provide the
text in any language to be engraved.
We enable you to mix and match the upper plates and
upper and lower handles to create the pair of Torah
rollers of your choice! Please note that the prices are
per pair and the center wood poles onto which the Torah
is sewn and lower, all wood plates are included at no
Note that some of the atzei chaim samples are shown with
dedication disks and unless it is part of the silver
design, is not included. In addition, you can choose
from 3 wood color options so the styles are not limited
to the colors of the samples shown.

30cm – 35cm: The plates will typically be 13cm
(approximately 5”). Contact us to find out which
advertised handle and plate styles are available and to
see additional sterling silver styles not shown.
36cm – 42cm: The plates will typically be 16cm
(approximately 6-1/3”). All styles shown are available.
45cm – 70cm: The plates will typically be 17.5cm
(approximately 7”). All styles shown are available.
Often, older Torahs are made with thicker parchment,
klaf, requiring diameter roller plates. There are
available in most plate styles by special order.
Which plate diameter do you need?
You can either measure the diameter of the present
roller plates, assuming they are the correct size, or
tightly roll the entire Torah scroll to one side and
measure the diameter of the parchment. Add about an inch
and this will be the correct plate measurement.
We will not accept any returns if the wrong diameter is
ordered or not requested and they cannot be corrected
once made. Your only option will be to use the rollers
as is or purchase a new pair at full price.
Do you only offer the lower plates in wood?
The lower plates are also available in most of the
styles offered for the upper plates. Contact us for
